IPFlow for WHMCS

System Requirements & Compatibility

Welcome to IPFlow, the automated IP Address Management (IPAM) and lifecycle provisioning addon for WHMCS. This guide outlines the system prerequisites, compatible WHMCS versions, PHP environment requirements, and network firewall settings needed to run IPFlow seamlessly.

Supported WHMCS Versions

IPFlow is built and verified to support modern WHMCS releases:

WHMCS Version Compatibility Status Recommended Theme / Notes
WHMCS 8.9 – 9.0+ Fully Compatible (Recommended) Works out-of-the-box with Twenty-One and Blend admin themes.
WHMCS 8.5 – 8.8 Supported Fully supported with standard WHMCS core features.
WHMCS 8.0 – 8.4 Compatible Requires PHP 8.1+ environment.

[!NOTE]
IPFlow integrates natively into the WHMCS administration menu under Addons > IPFlow and automatically embeds network management tabs in client service details.

Server & PHP Requirements

IPFlow runs on standard web hosting and server stacks without requiring any proprietary loaders or non-standard server extensions.

PHP Version Matrix

  • Minimum Required: PHP 8.1
  • Recommended: PHP 8.2 or PHP 8.3

Required PHP Extensions

Ensure the following standard PHP extensions are enabled on your server (all are standard in modern PHP builds):

Extension Purpose in IPFlow
pdo_mysql Secure database operations and high-speed IP inventory lookups.
curl License validation and remote API communication.
json Configuration processing, JSON backup exports, and interactive UI modals.
mbstring Multi-language character support and UTF-8 client name search.
filter Strict IPv4 and IPv6 network address validation.
openssl Cryptographic security and license signature verification.

[!TIP]
You can verify your active PHP extensions inside your WHMCS Admin area by navigating to Utilities > System > PHP Info.

Database Requirements

IPFlow uses high-speed relational storage with native transaction support to ensure zero IP collisions:

  • MySQL: Version 5.7.8 or newer (MySQL 8.0+ recommended)
  • MariaDB: Version 10.3 or newer (MariaDB 10.6+ recommended)
  • Storage Engine: InnoDB (required for instant row locking and high concurrency during checkout)

Web Browser Compatibility

The IPFlow administrative dashboard is fully responsive and compatible with all modern desktop and mobile browsers:

  • Google Chrome / Chromium (Latest 2 versions)
  • Mozilla Firefox (Latest 2 versions)
  • Apple Safari (Version 15+)
  • Microsoft Edge (Latest 2 versions)

Network & Firewall Requirements

To ensure automated licensing verification and blacklist (DNSBL) reputation scanning operate smoothly, configure your server firewall (e.g. CSF, UFW, AWS Security Groups) to permit the following outbound connections:

Port / Protocol Destination Purpose
Port 443 (HTTPS Outbound) roostkit.site License key activation and periodic status checks.
Port 53 (UDP/TCP DNS Outbound) Standard DNS Resolvers Automated blacklist checks (Spamhaus, SpamCop, Barracuda).

[!IMPORTANT]
IPFlow includes a built-in 72-hour offline grace period. If your server temporarily loses connection to the licensing server, automated provisioning and IP assignment will continue to operate without interruption for 3 full days while connectivity is restored.
